On the ASV database your preferred contact method may previously have been set to “post” which meant that you did not receive automatic notification of the newsletter being available. If you have an email registered with the ASV then your contact medium has been reset to “both” - the default method which means that you will receive newsletters by automatic notification of the upload of both the pdf and online versions of the newsletter. This can be changed either by contacting Ronit, or by logging into the members' website and registering your preference.
