Proposed New Constitution

The meeting of 15th October 2008 failed to achieve a quorum of members personally present to vote on the new constitution. In accordance with constitutional procedure the meeting has been adjourned one week to be held at 7:45pm in the Boroondara Community Arts Room, rear Hawthorn Town Hall, 360 Burwood Road Hawthorn on Wednesday 22nd October 2008. The quorum rules vary in this meeting so it is likely that a decision can be reached. Since this is technically the same meeting as the one of the 15th October no new postal votes or proxies can be accepted. If you want to have a vote on the new constitution then you should be there.

The meeting of 22nd October, having different quorum rules, has been able to reach a decision and the proposed constitution was passed. There was discussion over the extent of feeling about the membership clauses and it is likely that a proposal will be made at the AGM. Further information will be in the next newsletter.
