ELLIOT ASV GALLERY REFRESHMENT
The ASV invites member sculptors to submit works for inclusion to the Elliot ASV Gallery, at a partial refreshment of the exhibition at the end of February. Now over one third of the exhibits installed at the opening in November have been sold. The Elliot ASV Gallery is at 356-358 Punt Road, South Yarra, 3141. The exhibition is open Tuesday to Saturday 9.00 am to 5.00 pm each week. Commissions are 10% + GST for gallery sponsor John Elliot and 10% for ASV. Placement is the prerogative of John Elliot as owner of the gallery space, acting with the advice of Michael Meszaros. Items sold now are being replaced, and we aim to replace some of those not sold by end February with different works. A completely refreshed exhibition is planned for end of April. We are happy to accept works from previous ASV exhibitions. Would you please submit now for outdoor sculptures to be included in the end-February refreshment exercise, and send sketches and/or photos (2 copies please) with dimensions and asking prices by Friday February 4 to the following address:
Exhibition Coordinator, 8 Grierson Drive, Kilsyth, Vic 3133.
Please note all entries for the Elliot ASV Gallery need to be posted in hard copy and be accompanied by 2 printed images of each entry. It is no longer possible for us to print emailed entries and images.

Castlemaine State Festival ASV Sculpture Exhibition
ASV members Catherine and Neil Tait have generously offered to open their property and garden at their rural bush setting in Muckelford (approximately ten minutes from the centre of Castlemaine) for the purposes of hosting an ASV sculpture exhibition. The exhibition will be held during the highly-successful and well-attended Castlemaine State Festival from Friday, 1 April to Sunday, 10 April 2011. Over 50,000 people attended the last State Festival, so there is the opportunity to display your work to a significant number of viewers.
The Taits would like to provide the ASV with an opportunity to:
• Add a bi-annual event to its exhibiting calendar;
• promote and publicise ASV to a broader audience;
• support ASV sculptors;
• conduct a membership drive that attracts sculptors from the Central Victoria region to
become ASV members; and
• generate additional revenue for ASV (commissions and memberships).
Eligibility
The exhibition (and prize) is open to ASV members and other sculptors.
All sculpture (of any dimensions) will eligible, as long as work can be securely/safely exhibited in a public environment. Entries can be either indoor or outdoor work, but must be able to withstand outdoor exhibition conditions for ten days. Sculptures do not need to be new work, just good work.
Entries
$10 per sculpture (up to three sculptures per member) and $25 for non-ASV members. The entry fees will assist in covering administrative costs. Entire 10% commission on sales to be paid to ASV. (No other commission applied.)
Prize-money
The Taits are confident that they can generate approximately $1000 in prize-money for the
exhibition. Notification of final prize-money to be awarded will be issued to members in due course.
Promotion of exhibition
The Taits have agreed to undertake all the relevant marketing and publicity requirements for the exhibition. There will also be the opportunity for sculptors and ASV to display their personal promotional/marketing materials during the exhibition.
Organisation of exhibition
Mark Cowie has offered his services to coordinate and curate the exhibition, and assist with promotion of the exhibition.
Terms and conditions of exhibition
The terms and conditions for the exhibition will be forwarded to members in the near future and displayed on the ASV website.
Insurance and liability coverage
The Taits have public liability insurance coverage, but sculptors will be responsible for individual coverage pertaining to loss/theft/damage.
Delivery and collection of works
Works selected for the exhibition can be delivered and installed at any convenient stage during March prior to the official opening. Works can also remain at the site after the exhibition closes for as long as is required by the sculptor.
