Letter from the President

Gillian Govan
This has been an interesting month for the committee. We are now without a newsletter editor but Jenny Rickards has offered to step in and as you will see has done a sterling job at short notice. Also this month we have all been striving to get the new website launched. It is now well on the way and will be launched vey soon.

Just before writing this I read the email from Mark Cowie thanking all the sculptors who have entered work in the International Flower and Garden Show. I think we should be thanking him for all the time and effort he has put in to curating and organising this wonderful exhibition. So on behalf of all the members who are exhibiting I most sincerely thank you Mark. Rumour has it that Mark is prepared to do it next year too but I am sure would welcome support and offers to follow in his footsteps.

The annual exhibition is still being explored and we are looking at a very large gallery in Kensington which would allow us to really spread our wings and exihibit large and numerous works. Still on the drawing board though.

In the meantime we are looking forward to our next get together at a new meeting room in Armadale, when we will have a talk and discussion about Kinetic sculpture. Hope to see you there.

I leave you with this quote from August Rodin…”One must from time to time attempt things that are beyond ones capacity.”

Happy Sculpting
Gillian Govan
