Letter from the President for November and December

Dear Members,

The last newsletter for 2012… Where did the year go?  It has been very busy year sculpturally with all our exhibitions to prepare for. Not a great year for sales but that unfortunately is a sign of the times. The exhibitions have all been really grand and given us all something to work towards and an opportunity to display our work..
But they don’t just happen and I would like to thank the coordinators and their helpers especially Mark Cowie, for Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show and Tesselaar., Jenny Rickards for Herring Island and Beatrice for our Annual Exhibition and Awards.  We are still looking for a venue for next years Annual and hope that a few more members will get involved in making it happen.
While Jenny has Herring Island very efficiently under control, as usual, your entry forms are on the website so don’t miss out.  Please get them to Jenny as soon as possible.

We have a couple of interesting speakers for next year and the meetings will be held at Ashburton.
Hope to see you there. Til then Seasons Greetings and Happy sculpting.

Quote for the year “ You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do”- HENRY FORD

Amazing that I should write the above quote for the newsletter on the eve of the passing of a wonderful lady and  someone who truly deserved her reputation. Dame Elisabeth Murdoch supported the ASV for so many years an in so many ways .and we will always be grateful..
 A great Australian Lady RIP

 Happy Sculpting
