Heide Museum of Modern Art: ‘Stephen Benwell: Beauty, Anarchy, Desire - A Retrospective’

Described ‘as much a sculptor as an artist-potter’, Stephen Benwell combines the craft traditions of the potter with the conceptual painterly and sculptural concerns of the contemporary artist. 

His work draws upon a dizzying array of art-historical periods and styles, resulting in stand-alone objects that resist conventional categorisation.
