Not to mention closing on the 16th June: The Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture


Notes from the media release for the Melbourne Prize 2014:

Victorian sculptors are invited to enter in one of Australia’s most valuable arts prizes: the Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture 2014.

With a total prize pool of around $120,000, there are two main categories this year. The $60,000 Melbourne Prize for Urban Sculpture 2014 plus the new $40,000 Rural & Regional Development Award 2014. There are also awards for professional development and public voting available. The Prize focuses on the urban environment and the importance of sculpture, in all its forms, to inform our civic spaces and enrich public life.

Entry forms are available at www.melbourneprize.org. Entries can be made by the individual artist or by nomination. Entries close on 16 June 2014.

Applications are open for the 2014 Winter Artists Residency and Show
This is an 8-week residency followed by a 2-week Open Studio exhibition.
6 gallery/ studios are available. Artists research and produce new work in a unique gallery environment. Projects in sculpture, installation, sound, video and performance are most welcome.
