Something old, something new....

Sculptors are leading the 2015 Herring Island Summer Arts Festival and in true celebration style there is something for everyone:

Michael Meszaros "Windbreak"
Something "old" - well you did get the chance to see some of the works at 2014 annual exhibition so here is a welcome second chance - not often in this life.

Gillian Govan "Where Have I Been?" and "Where am I Going?"
Something new - well the images are often preliminary but here we have Gillian Govan's works "Where Have I Been?" and "Where am I Going?"

Some of the Sculpture stands we use are the property of the Festival - a great asset for those sculptors who are not able to carry both stands and work to the gallery from the punt landing. The stands were paid for from donations made during the festival. Donations have also supported restoration of a work in the permanent collection on the island and the installation of additional hanging rails for 2D works in the gallery.

And a blue work? There are likely to be a few - but we have images of this one.

Jenny Rickards "The Pelagic Creation"

Herring Island should look its best after recent rain so do come to the launch not only to see the exhibiton but also to enjoy the island and the permanent collection of environmental sculpture.
