The Association of Sculptors of Victoria is an inclusive, not-for-profit collective of contemporary artists whose purpose is to inspire, stimulate and advance the appreciation, creation, and exploration of three-dimensional art in society.

A short note from the President

My first letter for the news letter will be brief. It will be difficult to write letters as inspiring and informative as Jan Indrans has written for the past year. At this point I would like to thank him for his contribution as President of the Association while trying to balance a busy family life.

I would also like to acknowledge the huge part Michael Meszaros has played in maintaining a well-run Sculptors’ Association. He has been President and Vice president, almost non-stop for many years and in that role has given guidance, advice and leadership not only to the Association but to individual sculptors. He has now retired from these positions but has assured us that we can call on him at any time in the future if we need his help.

Thank you Michael and we wish you all the very best.

Now as we reach the silly season I wish you all a very enjoyable Christmas and summer. I am looking forward to a new year working with the many members who have offered to help keep the ASV running. The Herring Island Exhibition early in the New Year and Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show soon after are great opportunities to exhibit your work, meet other sculptors and contribute in promoting the image of the Association of Sculptors Victoria.

Seasons Greetings to All
Gillian Govan
