Herring Island 2017

Ismiadi, his work and three of the four coordinators
Our first exhibition of the year was blessed with mild weather. Visitor numbers were lower than usual for the first few days - perhaps because the punt service was restricted by the build up of silt in the river. The punt operators coped with overheating engines and difficult landing access with calm and skill but a reduced trip frequency. Nevertheless the visitors who came were a pleasure - and they appreciated the work so much that 8 works were sold. Congratulations to Monica Mauer Jan (2), Mim Kocher (3), Veronique Derville, Michael Meszaros and Elnaz Nourizadeh.

Ismiadi's "Boab"

Voting in the People’s Choice Award was popular - and this year we had a clear winner: new member Ismiadi has a stand out with his "Boab" The voters’ prize has been drawn and will be notified and delivered soon.

As well as the exhibition we had demonstrations in the courtyard - a great talking point for visitors.

Running the exhibition with extra helpers was easier and we got more done. Our social media presence is growing with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and more use of free publicity websites - thank you everyone.
