We cooperate as an association to advance the practice of sculpture and the reputation and appreciation of sculpture and sculptors in the community. This is regardless of whether or not we make a living from sculpture and regardless of our preferred style or medium. To this end we support artists’ moral rights, we advocate a professional attitude to the production and presentation of work and encourage the artistic and intellectual stimulation of interaction amongst artists of all persuasions.

Nearly There Now!

Organising the Annual and Awards Exhibiton is in the last frantic days and underneath a calm exterior the whole committee is paddling furiously. Work to go in the show is looking great so we are eagerly awaiting set up when we get to see it for real.

The speaker at our opening will be Peter Lamell, from the Board of the National Trust and former president of the Lorne Biennale. The judge for the Andor Meszaros - Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society - Yarra Sculpture Prize will be Gordon Morrison, Director of the Ballarat Gallery.

The celebration and prize presentation will be at 6pm on Thursday 10th August - food, wine, music and fabulous sculpture - why would anyone stay away?

You can download an invitation from the home page of the ASV website or click on the link on the newsletter blogsite - we are looking forward to seeing you at the exhibition.
