We announce that the XI FIP World Polo Championship Art Exhibition will be held from the 21st to the 29th of October, 2017, in conjunction with the internationally renowned event of the XI FIP World Polo Championship 2017.

 Prizes to the value of $14,000

We warmly invite established and emerging Australian artists to submit entries into this forthcoming exhibition, which will encompass a diverse range of artistic approaches, materials and practices, including both outdoor and indoor sculpture, and a variety of two-dimensional works. This exhibition will provide selected local and national Australian artists with an opportunity for significant exposure, engaging local, national and global audiences, as well as an estimated 151 million homes, worldwide, viewing the broadcast of the event.

The XI FIP World Polo Championship Art Exhibition and the XI FIP Wold Polo Championship 2017, along with a festival of entertainment and activities, are to be held on the spectacular landscaped grounds of the prestigious Sydney Polo Club. Positioned along the banks of the Hawkesbury River in Richmond, NSW, this venue is steeped in history, establishing itself in 1870 as the first polo club in the Southern Hemisphere, and holding such accolades as having been used as a location in the filming of The Great Gatsby.

Finalists announced in Melbourne Prize for Sculpture 2017
This year’s finalists are:

Sarah crowEST, Laresa Kosloff, Bridie Lunney, Timothy Moore/Sibling, Daniel von Sturmer & Susan Jacobs
All six finalists will also be awarded an artist fee of $4,000, generously supported by C H (Roger) Brookes.
The 2017 judges include six esteemed arts sector professionals:

$4,000 Civic Choice Award 2017 is supported by the Melbourne Prize Trust. The finalist with the most public votes will be announced the winner. Voting opens today at www.melbourneprize.org. A free public exhibition of finalists work will be held at Federation Square from November 13 to 27. Voting for the Civic Choice Award 2017 closes at the end of the exhibition on November 27 and the winner will be announced on December 1.
