Obituary

Joan at the dedication
of the Gallery at BAG
Joan Macrae born Feb 25th 1918, died Sept 18th 2017

Joan’s contribution to art, sculpture and ceramics in Beaumaris was considerable. A gentle, warm, friendly and welcoming person she was loved by all. Her drive, enthusiasm, intelligence, creativity and practical abilities were endless. Through her work the Beaumaris Art Group began.

Help Needed

We have been contacted through the website by the owner of a broken water feature. The owner has been informed by the nursery that sold it to him that the original sculptor has died. So we have been approached to find someone to help. The original bowl was apparently made from Hebel but a ceramic replacement may well be the most appropriate.

Jelly Bean Power

we have supplies!
Do you know how your newsletter gets to be done? How does a sculptor sit at the computer long enough to get the information collated and out to you?

From the President

Hi All,

With NBN roll out , bumping out the exhibition and catching our breath this newsletter is likely to be a little late. But better late than never. Thanks again to our editor Jenny for getting all the news to us.

Well yes another successful Annual Exhibition has finished. Was it successful? Well we had some very happy award winners, very happy exhibitors who sold works and in my time spent at Bourke Place, I saw and listened to some very happy sculptors meeting other sculptors learning more about their techniques, materials and making new friends. From where I sit that is a successful exhibition.
