From the President

Hi All,
Not only has another month passed but also another year.

Next month 11th October our meeting will be our Annual General Meeting. Through the year the committee has met on a regular basis to organise exhibitions, Meetings, Sponsorship, newsletters website etc. etc. etc.

Please come to the AGM and support these tireless volunteers and listen to what they have to report and what they have to say about the future of your Association.

Our guest speaker for the evening will be Melanie Guile who will explain about putting a history of the ASV together. Members old and new have expressed an interest in finding out about the past of the ASV and Melanie is very qualified to research this for us and enthusiastic to do so. She will tell us a little about her background as a writer and historian. She will talk about why we should write a history and what it should cover. It is a project that would involve research of documents, interviews, letters memoirs etc. She will also talk about what a history can achieve for the association and its members.

Melanie has already addressed the committee and inspired us to put the project to our members. She is a great speaker and I am sure you will find this an interesting presentation.

I have already received some old documents, photos and catalogues from long term and past members and a lot of feedback from new members who are interested to learn about our past.

I look forward to seeing a good crowd. Good wishes to all.

Happy Sculpting
Gillian
