The September Meeting

John Bishop at NLSS 2011
On Wednesday of 13th September John Bishop showed that as well as being our very able secretary he is a very accomplished sculptor and presenter. His talk about his journey in sculpture was really interesting and very well prepared. It was sad therefore that so few were there to enjoy it. Only four members attended including myself. John talked about his journey in carving limestone from his first symposium to the present day . His work is very popular with fine design and meticulous finish. Although he was very understanding that people did not want to come out on a cold winter evening he still presented his story. I was very impressed and have asked him to save the presentation for another opportunity in the coming year.
