Herring Island Summer Arts Festival 2018

Ismiadi's "Boab" won the Peoples Choice Award
In 2017 we saw the interesting situation of reduced visitor numbers to the exhibition in combination with pretty good sales - we had a better targeted audience of people coming to the island and seeing the exhibition and permanent collection because of our improved advertising and media campaign. A big thank you to the team of Elnaz (Instagram), Beata (free websites) and Jenny Whiteside (Facebook)

The reduced numbers could have been because of the slower access - Parks Victoria punt frequently had to go around the island to drop off and pick people up and so was out of sight for some of the time. Still the people who came were interested in the work and fun to talk to.

Sculptors entering the show will note that we are asking for your social media links so that if/when we give your work a run on our media we can send people to your sites and get the most mileage.
Elnaz Nourizadeh's "Punch Out" was one of the sold works

The demonstration events on Herring Island are really popular and great fun for the sculptors so do consider not only what work you could put in but also when you can "sit" the show, talk to people and possibly catch up with your fellow sculptors for a yarn in the courtyard.

Entries are online and instructions on how to enter and conditions of entry are at http://sculptorsvictoria.asn.au/exhibitions/application_form and the entry form is online at http://sculperenewsletter.blogspot.com.au/p/herring-island-2018-entry-form.html
